Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Getting started is quick and easy:

  • Download Ask Dorris from the App Store
  • Open the app and choose from Google, Apple, Facebook login, or use your email
  • A secure Solana wallet is automatically created for you during registration
  • Go to "Gem Hunter" and tap "Add Funds" to see your wallet address
  • Fund your wallet with SOL to start trading
  • Start discovering tokens and chatting with Dorris!

Important: After creating your account, immediately back up your wallet seed phrase. See "How do I back up my wallet?" below.

What do I need to start trading?

To begin trading on Ask Dorris:

  • A free account (via email, Google, Apple, or Facebook)
  • Your automatically-generated wallet (created during registration)
  • SOL in your wallet for transaction fees and trading

You can start with as little as 0.1 SOL (~$20-25) to explore the platform and execute your first trades.

Wallet & Security

How does the wallet work?

When you create your Ask Dorris account, the app automatically generates a secure Solana wallet for you:

  • Your wallet is created instantly during registration
  • To view your wallet address, go to "Gem Hunter" and tap the "Add Funds" button
  • Your private keys are encrypted and stored locally on your device only
  • We never have access to your keys or funds—100% non-custodial
  • You can export your seed phrase from Settings to back up your wallet

How do I back up my wallet?

CRITICAL: Back up your wallet immediately after creating your account!

To access your seed phrase:

  • Go to "Gem Hunter" (the main token discovery screen)
  • Tap the gear icon (⚙️) in the top right corner
  • Select "Export Private Key"
  • Enter your PIN if required
  • Your seed phrase will be displayed

Write down your seed phrase on paper and store it somewhere safe. Never take screenshots or store it digitally. This is the ONLY way to recover your wallet if you lose your phone.

Your seed phrase is the master key to your wallet. If you lose it, we cannot recover your funds. Never share your seed phrase with ANYONE—not even Ask Dorris support, customer service, or anyone claiming to be from our team. We will NEVER ask for your seed phrase. If someone asks for it, they are trying to scam you.

How do I fund my wallet?

To start trading, you need to send SOL to your wallet:

  • Open the app and go to the "Gem Hunter" section
  • Tap the "Add Funds" button at the top of the screen
  • Your wallet address will be displayed with a QR code
  • Copy the address or scan the QR code
  • Send SOL from an exchange (Coinbase, Binance, etc.) or another wallet
  • Wait for the transaction to confirm (usually 1-2 minutes)
  • Once confirmed, your balance will appear and you can start trading!

Tip: Start with at least 0.1 SOL to cover trading fees and your first trades.

Is my cryptocurrency safe?

Yes! Ask Dorris is 100% non-custodial, which means:

  • Your private keys never leave your device
  • We never hold, control, or have access to your funds
  • Your wallet keys are encrypted and stored locally on your phone
  • Only YOU control your cryptocurrency at all times

What is a seed phrase and why is it important?

A seed phrase (also called recovery phrase) is a 12-24 word sequence that is the master key to your wallet. It allows you to recover your wallet if you lose access to your device.

To access your seed phrase: Go to Gem Hunter → Tap gear icon (⚙️) → Export Private Key

Best practices:

  • Write it on paper and store in a secure location (safe, safety deposit box)
  • Never take screenshots or store digitally
  • Never share it via email, text, or any messaging app
  • Consider making multiple physical copies stored in different secure locations
  • No one from Ask Dorris will ever ask for your seed phrase

How does PIN security work?

Ask Dorris uses optional PIN protection for added security:

  • PIN is required for: Deleting your account and importing/exporting wallet keys (including accessing your seed phrase)
  • PIN is optional for: Trading/swapping tokens and accessing the settings area
  • You'll be prompted to set up a 6-digit PIN when first accessing secure features
  • Choose a strong 6-digit PIN that you can remember
  • Never share your PIN with anyone

Note: Your PIN provides an extra layer of security on your device. If you need to recover your wallet on a new device, you'll use your seed phrase, not your PIN.

Can I have multiple wallets?

No, each Ask Dorris account has one wallet. This keeps things simple and secure, with all your trading activity in one place.

Trading & Tokens

How do I trade/swap tokens?

Trading is simple and fast:

  • Browse tokens in the Discovery tab (New, Hot, Graduating, Graduated)
  • Tap any token to see detailed analysis and risk assessment
  • When ready, tap "Buy" or "Sell"
  • Enter the amount you want to trade
  • The swap executes quickly through Jupiter DEX

Make sure to review the token details and risk analysis before trading. Once you tap Buy or Sell, the transaction proceeds immediately.

What fees do you charge?

Ask Dorris charges a simple, transparent fee structure:

  • Platform fee: 1% on all buy and sell transactions
  • Network fees: Standard Solana transaction fees (~0.000005 SOL)
  • DEX routing: Jupiter's standard routing fees (typically 0.1-0.3%)
  • Priority fees: Optional, during network congestion (you control this)

Ask Dorris charges a 1% platform fee on trades, which powers our advanced AI analysis, real-time risk scoring, and continuous feature development—ensuring you always have the best tools for smart trading.

Why can't I swap a certain token?

There are a few reasons why a swap might not work:

  • Insufficient SOL balance for transaction fees
  • Token has very low liquidity
  • Token contract has restrictions or is paused
  • Network congestion or high slippage

Check the token's risk analysis and liquidity information before trading.

What do the risk ratings mean?

Our AI analyzes multiple factors to provide risk ratings:

  • Low Risk: Established tokens with good liquidity and holder distribution
  • Medium Risk: Newer tokens with moderate liquidity; normal volatility
  • High Risk: Very new tokens, concentrated holders, or low liquidity
  • Extreme Risk: Potential red flags detected; trade with extreme caution

Can I cancel a transaction?

No. Once a transaction is submitted to the Solana blockchain, it cannot be cancelled or reversed. This is how blockchain technology works. Always double-check transaction details before confirming.

Does Dorris remember our conversations?

Yes! Dorris uses a smart two-tier memory system:

  • Short-term memory: Remembers your last 10 interactions within your current conversation for context and continuity
  • Long-term memory: Automatically stores important personal information you share (birthdays, upcoming trips, family details, preferences, etc.) that persists across all future conversations

When you start a new chat, your short-term conversation history resets, but Dorris still remembers the important personal details you've shared. This gives you a fresh conversation while maintaining personalization.

All your conversation data is private and stored securely.

Troubleshooting

The app isn't loading token data

Try these steps:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Close and restart the app
  • Make sure you have the latest version of the app
  • Clear app cache in your phone settings
  • If the issue persists, contact support@askdorris.com

My transaction failed

Transaction failures can happen due to:

  • Insufficient SOL for transaction fees
  • Network congestion (try increasing priority fee)
  • Slippage exceeded tolerance (adjust slippage settings)
  • Token liquidity issues

Don't worry - failed transactions only cost the small network fee. Your funds remain safe in your wallet.

How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account:

  • Go to Settings in the app
  • Scroll down to "DATA & PRIVACY"
  • Tap "Delete Account"
  • Follow the confirmation prompts

Important: Make sure you've backed up your wallet seed phrase before deleting your account. We cannot recover your wallet after account deletion.

What data do you collect?

Can I use Ask Dorris anonymously?

While you need an account to use the app, you can create a wallet and trade without providing personal information beyond an email address. Your wallet addresses are pseudonymous on the blockchain.

Is Ask Dorris legal in my country?

Do I need to report my crypto taxes?
